The following two position papers have been written by the Tertiary Art Education Group of Victoria (TAEV), a sub-group of Art Education Victoria (AEV) for the purpose of art education advocacy.
The papers have been endorsed by the Australian Council of University Art and Design Schools (ACUADS), the Executive of the Australian Institute of Art Education (AIAE) and the Council of Art Education Victoria (AEV).
They are published here for art teachers and other educators to use for art education advocacy and policy development within schools, regions and beyond. Copying of the papers is permitted for these educational purposes as long as acknowledgement of the authoring group is included.
The pages included here contain material only available to members of AEV.

It may seem strange but while it is true that there are many glossy 'coffee-table' books that deal to a greater or lesser degree with Indigenous Australian art there are few authoritative studies. Dr Christine Nicholls has compiled a bibliography of Indigenous Australian Art resources that includes many exhibition catalogues and journal articles not always easy of access and includes areas such as Aboriginal photography and film. Dr Nicholls has graciously allowed AEV to publish the bibliography as a resource for our members.
