Incantation

For my Visual Communication project on ‘Carnival’ I based my
tonal drawing on Incantation, a performer from a Cirque du Soleil production.
I wanted to create an image of her, which was as dramatic and eye-catching
as her performance. I decided to achieve this by using the high contrast
of black and white tonal pencil rendering with minimal colour against her
red lips! The image is designed to be mysterious and thought provoking – what
goes on behind the theatrical face façade?
