Multicultural Village
Clay, paint, wood
We are one and everyone comes from their own place and we unite as one together. We can work together to do things wherever we are and whatever we do. That is why we made these towers, to show people that we create things together.
Stephanie (Galata Tower): My sources of inspiration are patterns and domes from different countries. My skills/techniques and imagination are brushes, patterns and invisible joins.
Catherine (Turkey Tower): My inspiration was a book on a tower in Turkey but I got the idea for different patterns from a picture of the Red Square in Russia. It has so many interesting patterns, unlike most buildings in Australia.
Tessa (Witches’ Tower): I used tools to help me and then I painted it. I got my great looking tower from Disneyland with big scary towers and rides and the colour, well, it just happens my favourite animal is a zebra, so there you are.
Olivia (Eiffel Tower): I got my inspiration from my sister’s collection.
When our teacher said ‘multicultural’ I automatically thought
of my sister’s shelf of things from England, France, Italy and Vietnam. ‘Culture’ makes
me think of languages, clothes, food, lifestyle, landmarks, environment,
festivals and patterns.
