This painting represents someone who has been selfish and mean towards other people but now feels bad about what they have done. They feel lonely, sad and cold-hearted because everyone has turned against them for what they have done. They feel like this tree, lonely, cold-hearted and also like this tree, by themselves in the middle of nowhere.
