‘My Sunflowers’
30cm x 30cm. Acrylic paints, air-drying clay, oil pastels, cardboard.

I painted my background with my fingers, I painted swirls. I got the colour I wanted and I filled up the gaps going round and round, then I filled all the gaps with white. I drew a flower and I coloured it with pastels with lots of marks, then I smudged the flower with my fingers. I cut my flower and pasted it on my background to look like it was coming out of the background. First I squashed the clay in my hands and I went like this, squeezing it very hard to make it into a ball, I bent the clay and it looked like a vase, I pinched my vase to make it look like Vincent Van Gogh’s vase and then I painted it. It was hard work and I feel very good, I like my work because it looks nice and I want people to see my beautiful work.
