Shadows of the Mind

I recently had Studio Arts as one of my Semester One subjects and for that subject I had to take portraits of people. I decided to take this photograph in the morning to make the best use of sunlight. The model in the photograph is my close friend Ebru. I used the sunlight to cast shadows across her face evoking a sense of thoughtfulness, insecurity and loneliness. She is the main focus in the photo. Most of her is cast in a shadow to strengthen the portrait of pensiveness.
