A photography excursion to take photos of Federation Square left me stranded as Flinders Street Station became engulfed in flames and smoke billowed from the platforms. My curiosity and sense of adventure inspired me to capture the scene as a snapshot in time. Detail was everything I needed to be close to the action as possible.
I used straight photography when developing these black and white photographs so I could document the event accurately. I wanted my images to be sharp and to create a strong image so the photos would tell a story and reflect the drama as I saw it unfold.
