Shadow Puppet
27cm x 30cm. Foam core, acrylic paints and polystyrene.
I made this puppet out of foam core. First, we sketched the template on paper, cut out the paper and then drew Indonesian designs on our template. We drew on the foam core using the template. Fourth, we used special cutting tools that made the cutting easy for us. We painted the puppet with many different colours. I chose gold for the outline. We then got another piece of paper to design the hand. We the fragile polystyrene foam for the arms and I painted mine black. I chose purple for the background because it looks ancient. It took about 14 weeks to complete, but it was worth it.
