In the Footsteps of the Artist

I was inspired to create my portrait of the Australian gum as the Heidleberg School of Artists had painted in the past. I followed their trail and chose to paint a tree that would allow me to emphasise the features of its textural qualities. In my portrait I used layer upon layer of acrylic paint to get the effect of the true gum.
